Who We are

The Economic & Rural Resources Development Foundation (ERRDF) is a not-for-profit Company Limited by Guarantee, established under the Companies Act No. 7 of 2007. The Foundation is also registered under the National Development Trust Fund (NDTF), bearing Registration No. PC419. ERRDF is dedicated to empowering Sri Lanka’s rural communities through sustainable economic and social development. We focus on harnessing and channeling rural resources, strengthening livelihoods, and promoting entrepreneurship to foster long-term self-reliance among individuals and communities.

Facilitate rural development programs that create income generating opportunities.

Support skills development and employment initiatives, especially for youth and women.

Encourage sustainable agricultural practices and value chain integration.

Promote rural entrepreneurship and small enterprise development.

Collaborate with public and private institutions for project funding, technical support, and community engagement.

Uphold transparency, accountability, and good governance in all Foundation activities.

Our Approach

ERRDF operates through a member-driven development model, where community participation and accountability are at the heart of every initiative. We identify needs at the grassroots, design solutions in collaboration with stakeholders, and ensure that every rupee invested leads to measurable social impact. The Foundation works hand-in-hand with government bodies, development agencies, and local partners to ensure sustainability, inclusivity, and long-term impact in all its projects.
